So, I finally got the results of my labs from my last appointment (my biopsy results are on Monday). Yesterday I went to my doctor to get the results and follow up. Some areas of concern but primarily good news.
Last year I was in pre-diabetic stage 5.9 and pre-diabetic stage is 5.4-6.7, when I got the results yesterday it was at 5.7, so I'm getting closer to leaving that pre-diabetic stage. My cholesterol is good over all, but my trigylcerites were high and the good cholesterol that protects your heart was low. My vitamin D was WAYYYY low, she prescribed me something for that. The rest of the stuff was pretty much normal! She says that she feels I can fix all of this stuff on my own if I eat right and workout. going to make an appointment for 6-8 weeks from now (around my birthday time!) and redo the labs hopefully everything improves.
I mean it isn't GREAT news, but it is great news that I do not have diabetes and it's great news that she thinks I can do this on my own without medication. She only prescribed me vitamin D. So, I'm taking that as a win and I will have even more motivation to get healthy. I do not want to be on a lot of medicines. I'm not even 30 yet!
Today is Independence Day! We are going to have a friend or two over and watch the fireworks from our porch. Laughlin has AMAZING fireworks and we can see them from our porch. I should be more excited about 4th of July, but I'm just so proud and blessed to live in America. I feel humbled by the sacrifices made so that I could be free to be who I am. So that I can be free to be who I WANT. Thank You to all fighters of our freedom and protection, past, present and future.
